Campus media

There are numerous opportunities for our students to put their classroom instruction to work without leaving campus.

SBU-TV (News, Sports & More)

News anchors at the SBU TV Studio news deskStudents learn television news production in a modern digital setting in the Koop Broadcasting Lab on campus.

Open daily, under the direction of student lab assistants, the facility is available to School of Communication students for the production of student-produced programs, video production and other projects.

SBU-TV Sports offers students the chance to present journalism on the fly, directing and producing live sporting events for ESPN+.

ESPN+ Broadcasts

Two students on the soccer field doing a live broadcast for ESPN+ Imagine yourself doing play-by-play of Division I college sporting events on live television for hundreds of thousands of viewers on ESPN+.

Maybe you'd like to direct or produce a tournament basketball game, providing replays, doing courtside interviews, running a camera, or providing audio or graphics for telecasts.

Learn to do journalism on the fly by presenting live telecasts of Bonnies men's and women's basketball games in the famed Reilly Center Arena, or working on a telecast of baseball, soccer, lacrosse, or another of SBU's many Division I teams.

Our students work as part of the ESPN family, in front of and behind the camera, directing and producing live sporting events with the latest HD equipment.

A group of St. Bonaventure students even went to Atlanta to cover Super Bowl LIII, and others covered NCAA men’s basketball tournament games in Dayton and Dallas.

Her Campus

Her-Campus-LogoInterested in learning AP style while writing about pop culture and all things Gen Z? Join St. Bonaventure’s chapter of Her Campus.

Her Campus is a digital magazine written for women, by women. Every week, members meet (regardless of academic major) to practice writing skills, brainstorm topics for weekly articles and, most importantly, build a sisterhood.

Aside from our personal organization, the "sorority” feel of the chapter program allows us to nationally compete in topics such as website traffic and follower increase on social media.

Our chapter of Her Campus was established in 2015 and continues to flourish with women from various backgrounds. Students can earn multiple internship hours for each article they submit.
